Bogaerts homers, drives in four runs

Top Red Sox prospect records second straight two-hit game

Xander Bogaerts homered and collected four RBIs on Sunday, but Pawtucket dropped a 12-7 decision at Rochester. The Red Sox's top prospect went yard for the fifth time since debuting in the International League on June 14.

Jackie Bradley Jr., Boston's second-ranked prospect, singled to get aboard for the fifth time in his last two games, and Will Middlebrooks contributed two hits and an RBI.

Jermaine Mitchell led the way for the Red Wings with four RBIs. He homered, singled twice and scored three runs, while Doug Bernier, Chris Herrmann and Brian Dinkelman scored two runs apiece.

Taijuan Walker allowed a run on six hits over five innings before a rain delay ended his outing in Tacoma's 6-4 triumph at Salt Lake. The Mariners' top prospect walked one batter, struck out four and has a 0.56 ERA in three Pacific Coast League starts.

Ty Kelly, whom Seattle acquired from the Orioles in last week's trade for Eric Thames, went 4-for-4, reached base five times, drove in a run and scored once. Mariners No. 9 prospect Stefen Romero chipped in two RBIs.

Luis Rodriguez homered, tripled and walked twice for the Bees.

Andre Rienzo pitched a five-hitter for his second complete game of the season as Charlotte beat Norfolk, 5-2. The White Sox No. 9 prospect struck out four and walked one, improving to 6-6 while lowering his ERA to 4.47 ERA.

Mike McDade had four RBIS and missed the cycle by a triple for the Knights, who got two hits from White Sox No. 4 prospect Carlos Sanchez.

Orioles No. 7 prospect Xavier Avery had two hits and scored a run for the Tides.

Adron Chambers hit a grand slam and totaled five RBIs in Memphis' 13-3 drubbing of Nashville.

Cardinals No. 3 prospect Kolten Wong homered and scored three times, while Jamie Romak slugged his 19th roundtripper, drove in three runs and scored twice for the Redbirds.

Tyler Lyons allowed three runs on two hits and a walk over eight innings, striking out nine to improve to 4-1.

Hunter Morris, Milwaukee's fourth-ranked prospect, belted his 18th homer to account for the Sounds' offense.

Reds No. 13 prospect Neftali Soto launched a three-run homer in Louisville's 4-0 blanking of Columbus.

Emmanuel Burriss went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, while Chad Reineke struck out six and yielded four hits over eight-plus innings for the Bats. He's third in the International Leauge with a 2.86 ERA.

Daisuke Matsuzaka went 7 2/3 innings for the Clippers but fell to 1-5 after giving up four runs on eight hits.

Rockies No. 13 prospect Charlie Culberson went 3-for-4 with a homer, two RBIs and two runs scored to lead Colorado Springs to a 7-6 victory over Reno.

Tim Wheeler, Colorado's No. 6 prospect, doubled, singled, plated a run and scored once.

D-backs No. 5 prospect Chris Owings singled three times, stole his 14th base and scored a run for the Aces, while Major League veteran Juan Rivera went 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
