Jupiter, Fla.- The Florida State League announced on Tuesday that pitcher Chris Corrigan of the Palm Beach Cardinals has been named the league's Pitcher of the Week for the period of August 27- September 3, 2012.
Corrigan started one game, pitched a perfect game. In nine innings, he did not allow a Charlotte Stone Crab to reach base. He struck out nine batters, while tossing 94 pitches. It was the first perfect game in Palm Beach Cardinal History.
The Humble, TX native began the season as a reliever, but after a brief stint in Double-A Springfield, Corrigan returned to Palm Beach as starter. In 20 appearances, Corrigan posted a 4-8 record with 4.02 ERA with the Cardinals. He limited hitters to a messily .222 batting average, while recording 75 strikeouts in 85 innings.
