The Tulsa Drillers 2013 schedule has been finalized by the Texas League. The Drillers home opener at ONEOK Field is set for Thursday, April 11 against the San Antonio Missions. Tulsa will begin the regular season campaign one week earlier, on April 4, in San Antonio.
Following a six-game road trip to open the season, the Drillers return to Tulsa for another six-game set that will begin with the opener on April 11. The initial homestand will run for six consecutive days through April 16 and will include three games against the Missions and three more versus Corpus Christi.
The 2013 home slate is highlighted by 17 Fireworks Games at ONEOK Field. Every Friday home game during the season will feature post-game fireworks, and shows will also follow four selected Saturday games. In addition, two special fireworks shows are scheduled on Wednesday, July 3 and Thursday, July 4 to celebrate the Independence Day Holiday.
Overall, the Texas League will again play a 140-game split season, with the first half concluding on June 19.
Tulsa will play a total of 70 home games with 41 of games occurring on either a Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The Drillers will play 14 home games during the month of April, 15 in May, 11 in June, 17 in July and 13 in August.
The home schedule includes seven weekday, day games, including one on Memorial Day, May 27. The complete list of non-weekend day games includes: April 15 (12:05PM), April 29 (11:05AM), May 8 (4:05PM), May 15 (11:05AM), May 27 (1:05PM), June 5 (12:05PM) and June 10 (12:05PM).
The normal starting time for evening games at ONEOK Field will remain at 7:05PM. Sunday home games in April, May and June, with the excpetion of May 26, will begin at 2:05PM, while Sunday games the remainder of the year will have the standard start time of 7:05PM.
Two different home stands will be interrupted during the season. On Friday, May 10, the Drillers and Arkansas will take a night off during their series when the Beldam Game between OU and OSU is played. In June, Tulsa and Northwest Arkansas will play two games at ONEOK Field before moving to Springdale for a single game on June 6. The two teams will return to Tulsa the following night to conclude their four-game series.
Tulsa's final regular season home game is scheduled for Monday, August 26.
The Drillers will close out the regular season with a Labor Day Weekend Series in Springfield. The final game is slated for Monday, September 2.
