Grizzlies Again Named Best Game Entertainment
The Grizzlies' second consecutive "Best Team Operations Award" was accompanied by recognition for two of the most popular fixtures at Chukchansi Park. After winning the award in 2007, Grizzlies' mascot extraordinaire Parker received an honorable mention in this year's "Best Mascot" category. The Drag Kings, Minor League Baseball's premier dancing grounds crew, got an honorable mention nod in the "Best Entertainment Team" grouping.
"It's hard to find a measure of game operations and game presentation excellence where the Fresno Grizzlies are not in the discussion. It's a focus and a passion for their entire staff and it shows," stated GameOps.com in their annual award presentation. "Whether it's elevating a game night promotion to a memorable ticket selling event, developing in-game entertainment, or connecting with fans the Grizzlies simply do it better than most."
GameOps.com is a resource web site designed to connect teams and event producers with ideas and tools that will enhance the entertainment value of their events. Each year the site enlists a panel of industry professionals to evaluate all sports teams in both major and minor leagues before handing out their widely respected distinctions in the sports entertainment realm.
"We are deeply committed to providing the most compelling and affordable family entertainment option in our community," said Grizzlies Senior Vice President of Marketing Scott Carter. "To again be recognized as one of the most complete entertainment operations in professional sports is an incredible honor for both our staff and fans."
The Fresno Grizzlies return to Chukchansi Park on Friday, April 16 for their home opener of the 2010 season.
