JACKSON, TENN. (August 21, 2010) - The Diamond Jaxx (26-30) swept a double-header from the Jacksonville Suns (33-23) on Saturday night at Pringles Park. The Jaxx came from behind to walk-off in the bottom of the seventh with a 6-5 win in game one, and held on in game two for a 6-5 victory. The Jaxx increased their lead by a ½ game to three full games in the wildcard standings with 14 games to play in the regular season.

Game One: JAXX 6, SUNS 5

In game one, the Jaxx were led at the plate by Leury Bonilla and Nate Tenbrink, who each had two hits. Alex Liddi was 3-for-3 with an RBI. Tenbrink provided a homer and two RBI's, while Bonilla had the game winning RBI in the seventh inning.

Aaron Jensen (3-1) got the win in the first game by working one inning of scoreless relief. Jarrett Grube had a no decision after firing six innings and giving up five runs on six hits. Taking the loss was Todd Doolittle (3-4) for Jacksonville.

Leury Bonilla doubled and Johan Limonta brought him in with a sacrifice fly to center in the bottom of the first. The Jaxx took their first lead in the series, 1-0.

The Suns tied and took the lead in the top of the third inning. Lorenzo Scott doubled in Tim Torres to tie the game at 1-1. Ozzie Martinez brought in their second run in the inning on an RBI ground out. The Suns lead 2-1.

Nate Tenbrink hit a two-run homerun in the bottom of the fourth inning to give the Jaxx back the lead at 3-2. The homer was Tenbrink's 5th of the season.

Jacksonville once again re-took the lead in the top of the fifth inning by scoring three runs. Jacksonville went on top 5-3.

The Jaxx rallied and walked off for the victory in the seventh. With two runs in, Leury Bonilla doubled home Carlos Triunfel from second base to win it 6-5.

Game Two: JAXX 6, SUNS 5

Dwight Britton, the Diamond Jaxx new outfielder made his debut in game two and went 2-for-3 with a homer, three RBI's and two runs scored. Joe Dunigan led off for the Jaxx and went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Johan Limonta finished 1-for-2 with two RBI's. Matt Dominguez was 2-for-4 with a grand slam to lead Jacksonville at the plate.

Steven Richard (2-0) got the win for the Jaxx by pitching a scoreless inning of relief. Mumba Rivera closed down the seventh and struck out win in his first save of the season. Jeff Allison (6-8), the starter for the Suns took the loss. Allison allowed five runs on five hits in 3.2 innings.

The Diamond Jaxx scored first in the second game on an RBI single by Johan Limonta. The single scored Joe Dunigan and put the Jaxx on top 1-0.

After the Jaxx plated two runs in the third inning, Dwight Britton hit his first Double-A homer in his second at-bat. The 3-run homer by Britton gave the Jaxx a 6-0 advantage.

The Suns removed starter Jimmy Gillheeney from the game by scoring five runs in the top of the fifth inning. The inning was capped off by a grand slam by Matt Dominguez. The Jaxx lead was cut to 6-5. Cesar Jimenez and Mumba Rivera combined for two scoreless innings to secure the win.

The Diamond Jaxx will enjoy a day off on Sunday before welcoming the first place Tennessee Smokies for a three-game series beginning on Monday night at 7:05 at Pringles Park. RHP Luis Munoz will make the start for the Diamond Jaxx against RHP Chris Carpenter for the Smokies. On Monday, Kids and Seniors Eate Free, with paid admission, presented by Nestle.
