KEN GRIFFEY JR. TO VISIT MAVERICK STADIUM

Future Hall of Famer traveling to Adelanto on Monday and Tuesday
April 25, 2011
Former Seattle Mariner great and certain Major League Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. will make a trip to High Desert on Monday and Tuesday to spend time with the Mavericks. The stop is part of series of stops the 13-time all-star will make through the Seattle organization.

"Ken Griffey, Jr., is one of the greatest baseball players of all-time - a sure Hall of Famer who played the game with breath-taking ability and grace," said team owner Dave Heller. "It is a real honor to be able to have him come to the Victor Valley and we look forward to his visit."

Upon retirement from baseball, Griffey, Jr. became a full-time consultant for the Mariners. In the course of his duties with the Mariners, Griffey, Jr. worked with the team during Spring Training and will be visiting Mariners' minor league affiliates this season, as well as being involved in broadcasting, marketing and community relations.

Tickets for the four-game series with the Inland Empire 66ers (Single-A, Los Angeles Angels) are on sale now by calling the Maverick Stadium box office at 760-246-MAVS or online at www.HDMavs.com.
