Manny Ramirez to Rehab With 66ers

August 18, 2010
Los Angeles Dodgers star outfielder Manny Ramirez is scheduled to begin a rehabilitation assignment with the Inland Empire 66ers on Wednesday against the Lake Elsinore Storm at 7:05. He is scheduled to lead off and play in left field.

Ramirez, 38, was placed on the disabled list retroactive to July 16th for the third time this season with a significant strain in his right calf. In 61 games this season Ramirez is batting .317 with eight home runs and 39 runs batted in.

This will be Ramirez' third rehab stint with Inland Empire this season and fourth trip to the 66ers in the last two years. Ramirez joined the 66ers after being placed on the disabled list April 23rd and June 30th this year. He has played in five games for the 66ers during those past two rehab assignments, batting .077 (1-for-13) with one RBI.

Wednesday night fans are invited to bring their dogs to the ballpark to see Manny Ramirez, and there is also a Thirsty Thursday ($1 beers and sodas), and 50 cent Friday (hot dogs and quesadillas for 50 cents, beer and sodas for $2.50, and $2 lawn seats) scheduled for the remainder of the home stand.

There are still great seats and incredible values on group outings out there for the remainder of the 2010 season, including Fan Appreciation Day, Sunday August 29th when the 66ers will be giving away 1,500 Fleece Blankets to their faithful fans.
