Matt Craig Named PCL Batter of the Week
Craig also tallied nine RBIs, two home runs, and a .957 slugging-percentage during his award-winning stretch and was just a single short of hitting for the cycle in an August 10th contest against the Oklahoma RedHawks. The Iowa third-baseman is now hitting .417 in ten games in the PCL with ten RBI. A native of Dallas, Texas, Craig is in his sixth season with the Chicago Cubs organization and was a their third-round selection in the 2002 Amateur Draft.
In just his third and fourth appearances in the PCL, McClung had near-identical outings last week, throwing five scoreless-innings and giving up three hits in each of his starts to earn his award. The Lewisburg, West Virginia native also struck out 11 batters on three walks and picked up one win during the stretch. He is currently in his ninth professional season and his first campaign with the Milwaukee Brewers organization.
