Peters, Voyagers hurlers top Pioneer stars
The best performers of the 2016 Pioneer League season were named end-of-season All-Stars on Monday.
DJ Peters, the Dodgers' fourth-round pick this year, and Aaron Schnurbusch, a 28th-round pick by the White Sox, finished second and third in the circuit in OPS respectively, and were joined by Angels' 17th-round pick Zach Gibbons as the squad's outfielders.
The team also includes Brewers' 23rd-round pick Ronnie Gideon, who led the league with 16 homers, and Royals catching prospect Meibrys Viloria, whose .376 batting average is currently the circuit's best.
Four of the five pitchers on the team are White Sox prospects, including Alec Hansen, Chicago's second-round pick in 2016, and Yosmer Solorzano, whose 81 strikeouts are topping the league.
