Pinckney;s big night helps Tides edge Pawsox

Brandon Pinckney's four hits powered Norfolk to an 8-7 win Wednesday night.

Pinckney doubled twice and singled twice while driving in three runs, helping Norfolk overcome a 6-3 deficit to win their second straight contest.

Joey Gathright, Brandon Snyder and Michael Aubrey each had two hits apiece for the Tides, who pounded out 14 hits in the contest.

Chris Waters (9-5) earned the win with 2.1 innings of shutout relief, while Bob McCrory worked around two ninth inning hits to register his fourth save of the season.

Norfolk and Pawtucket will continue their four-game set on Thursday, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05.
