STOCKTON, Calif. -
The depth and strength of the Oakland Athletics farm system will be on display before the minor league season officially kicks off this spring, as the Stockton Ports will be taking on the Sacramento River Cats, Triple-A affiliate of the A's, in a two-game exhibition series on April 6 and 7.

The Ports, 11-time California League Champions, will host the first exhibition game at Banner Island Ballpark on Tuesday, April 6 at 6:35 p.m. The final game will be at Raley Field in Sacramento on Wednesday, April 7 at 6:35 p.m.
Not only can fans get a preview of this season's Stockton club, led by new manager Steve Scarsone, but fans can also see a high number of the top prospects in the Oakland organization in this exhibition series.
"This exhibition series has been a highlight on our pre-season schedule for a couple of years and it's an event we look forward to. It's always exciting to meet our new team, and to also see and congratulate former Ports who had have made it up to Sacramento," said Ports President and General Manager Pat Filippone. "We look forward to watching a close exhibition series and welcoming our fans to Banner Island Ballpark for another exciting year of Ports baseball."
Ports season ticket holders can enter the April 6 game at Banner Island Ballpark for free, while mini-plan ticket holders must pay $2 for tickets. Tickets for the general public for the April 6 event cost $5. All tickets are for reserved seating.
Tickets to for the first exhibition game at Banner Island Ballpark will be available online at www.stocktonports.com, over the phone at (209) 644-1900 or at the ticket office at Banner Island Ballpark starting in mid-March.
The Ports will open the 2010 season on the road at Visalia on Thursday, April 8 before hosting their home opener on Thursday, April 15 against Visalia at 7:05 p.m.
