The Peoria Chiefs have announced a press conference for Tuesday, September 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Peoria Chiefs Stadium at which time they will officially sign a new Player Development Contract with the St. Louis Cardinals. Cardinals General Manager John Mozeliak, and Farm Director John Vuch are expected to attend.
The public is invited to the lunchtime event and encouraged to wear red as the Chiefs announce their new MLB affiliation. Hot dogs, chips and soda will be provided to all fans who show up, free of charge. All fans who show up to the event will also receive a voucher for a free ticket to the Chiefs 2013 regular season opener on April 4 against Wisconsin. Tickets for the Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6 games will be $8.00 for Club Box Seats and $5 for Lawn Seats in a throwback to what prices were when the stadium opened in 2002 as a Cardinals affiliate. The Firehouse Team Store will also be open to the public during the event.
The press conference will be held outside, weather permitting and will begin at 1:00 p.m.. Parking is available on the streets surrounding Peoria Chiefs Stadium on a first come, first served basis. The gates to the ballpark will open at 12:30 p.m. for fans interested in attending the event.
