Padres' top prospect Rymer Liriano went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs to power the Javelinas to victory. It was the outfielder's second straight three-hit game and improved his Arizona Fall League average to .327 to go with his three longballs and 10 runs driven in. MLB.com's No. 44 prospect Mike Zunino (Mariners) added a solo homer of his own, and Cody Asche (Phillies) and Jeudy Valdez (Padres) both doubled twice. Phoenix 3, Surprise 1
The two teams were knotted at 1-1 going into the bottom of the seventh, when A's No. 5 prospect Grant Green hit his first homer of the AFL season to put the Desert Dogs up for good. Braves prospects Nick Ahmed and Cory Brownsten provided the other two Phoenix RBIs, with the former's coming on a leadoff round-tripper in the first inning. Cody Stanley (Cardinals) hit a solo blast for the Saguaros, while fellow St. Louis farmhand Boone Whiting allowed one run on three hits and struck out four as the team's starter. Scottsdale 9. Salt River 2
The Scorpions scored all nine runs in the first five innings to overtake the Rafters at the top of the East Division standings. Indians prospect Tyler Holt drove in three of those runs and finished 2-for-4 with a run scored from the top spot in the batting order. Adalberto Santos (Pirates) went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Joe Panik (Giants) hit a solo homer. Nationals' top prospect Anthony Rendon tripled and scored a run for the Rafters.
