Tigers Scarecrows Stolen From Museum
"This really is a shame, talent wise these were some of the best scarecrows we have seen in years," said GM Andrew Weber.
NORWICH, CT - On a dark day in Norwich baseball history, the Connecticut Tigers declare that three of their own were abducted from the Leffingwell House Museum front lawn during the late night hours of Wednesday October 13th. The scarecrows were dressed in Connecticut Tigers grey baseball jerseys and pants, wearing jersey numbers 57, 58, and 59.
The Connecticut Tigers stepped-up to the plate to help raise funds and awareness for the Leffingwell House Museum in Norwich by participating in the "Celebrate Fall Scarecrow Display & Art Installation."
"We're a part of this community and wanted to show our support and thanks to all of our wonderful fans that came out to Dodd Stadium to cheer on the Tigers this summer," stated Tigers General Manager Andrew Weber. "The Leffingwell House Museum is a fantastic place that has a rich history and we're thrilled to be a partner of theirs," said Weber.
The Tigers are asking that the scarecrows (and more importantly the jerseys and pants) be returned with no questions asked. They can be dropped off at Dodd Stadium or at the Leffingwell House Museum. In conjunction with the Arts & Heritage Weekend being held throughout the Norwich region, the Tigers will be holding an Octoberfest & Chili Cook-Off this Saturday, October 16th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Octoberfest will feature live music from Second Round Knockout and over 75 of the finest craft beers the Northeast has to offer. Tickets are on sale at Dodd Stadium and on-line at cttigers.com. This is a 21 and over event, with proper I.D. required.
