Tourists playoff tickets to go on sale August 9th.

The Asheville Tourists have announced that South Atlantic League playoff tickets to potential games at McCormick Field will go on sale at the team's box office on Thursday, August 9, at 10 a.m. The Tourists are currently in the playoff hunt in the Southern Division and would meet the Augusta Greenjackets on Wednesday, September 5, upon qualifying for post-season play.

"Due to the constant demand from our fans we have elected to put 2007 playoff tickets on sale as well as 2008 season tickets," commented Jodee Ciszewski, box office manager for the Asheville Tourists.

The Tourists could possibly host four post season games. The dates of those games would be as follows

Divisional Championship Wednesday September 5, 2007 vs. The Augusta Greenjackets

SAL Championship Game 3Thursday September 13, 2007 vs. The SAL North Champion

SAL Championship Game 4 Friday September 14, 2007 vs. The SAL North Champion * if necessary

SAL Championship Game 5 Saturday September 15, 2007 vs. The SAL North Champion * if necessary

Fans buying post-season tickets prior to September 5th will receive a discount. Adult tickets to the semi-final playoff game purchased before September 5 will be $10 for box seats and $7 for general admission. The adult price increases to $13 for box seats and $9 for general admission beginning on September 5. Tickets for children, students, seniors and military personnel will be $7 for box seats and $6 for general admission regardless of the date purchased. There will be a limited number of $5 general admission tickets for fans to purchase.

Tickets to South Atlantic League Championship games at McCormick Field also will go on sale August 9. Adult box seats to the championship series will be $10 prior to September 5 and $17 thereafter. Adult general admission seats will be $7 prior to September 5 and $12 thereafter. Again, tickets for children, students, seniors and military personnel will be $7 for box seats and $6 for general admission regardless of the date purchased. There will also be a limited number of $5 general admission tickets for fans to purchase.

The Tourists also will begin selling tickets to the team's special seating areas for all post-season games. The Dugout Suites and seats in the Asheville Citizen-Times Clubhouse will be $45 for adults and $40 for children, students, seniors and military personnel. Tickets in the Spearman Dream Seats will be $35 and $30, respectively. Prices for these tickets will remain unchanged throughout the postseason.

The Asheville Tourists offer discounts to current season ticket holders and prospective season ticket holders. Any season ticket holder renewing by September 5 for the 2008 season in full will receive all of their playoff tickets for free. Any season ticket holder placing a $100 deposit per seat for the 2008 season will receive tickets for the first round for free and regular season pricing throughout the remainder of the playoffs. In the event The Asheville Tourists do not make post season play all money spent on playoff tickets will be honored for the 2008 season for equal value.

The Asheville Tourists 2008 full season tickets are $449 for box seats and $289 for general admission. The half season prices are $249 for box seats and $189 for general admission.
