Triple-A roundup: d'Arnaud streaking

In the Pacific Coast League, MLB.com's No. 25 prospect Travis d'Arnaud went 2-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to 13 games in Las Vegas' 5-4 win over Reno on Thursday. During the streak, which started on April 19, the Blue Jays' top prospect has raised his average from .182 to .283. Arizona's No. 18 prospect Ryan Wheeler went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored for Reno in the loss.

New Orleans first baseman Luke Montz homered for the third consecutive game, but it wasn't enough for the Zephyrs as they fell, 5-4, to Round Rock. Rangers' No. 8 prospect Neil Ramirez (3-2) allowed two earned runs on three hits and struck out three over seven innings. Julio Borbon, who has just a .224 average over his first 26 games, homered and plated two runs.

Memphis scored five runs in the final four innings en route to a 7-6 win at home over Iowa. First baseman Steven Hill went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBIs for the Redbirds. Blake Lalli and Josh Vitters added home runs for the Cubs, who did all of their scoring in the second and third innings off Memphis starter Brian Broderick.

Omaha's Vin Mazzaro (1-0) allowed one run on five hits and one walk and struck out seven over seven innings to earn his first win in six tries during the Storm Chasers' 3-1 victory over Nashville. First baseman Clint Robinson led the way offensively, going 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a walk. Brewers' No. 15 prospect Caleb Gindl provided the only offense for the Sounds with an RBI double in the second inning.

Dodgers' No. 18 prospect Scott Van Slyke went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBIs as the Albuquerque offense delivered a 15-5 win over Oklahoma City. Left fielder Jerry Sands went 3-for-5 with two triples, two RBIs and two runs scored while shortstopElian Herrera and Matt Angle added four hits apiece. Even starting pitcher Will Savage, who allowed four runs over five innings, hit a two-run homer and added an RBI sacrifice bunt. Third baseman Scott Moore went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI for the RedHawks.

Bruce Billings (2-1) scattered five hits and struck out six in seven scoreless innings for Sacramento in its 6-1 win over Colorado Springs. Right fielder Collin Cowgill went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored to lead the River Cats offensively. Recently demoted Sky Sox third baseman Jordan Pacheco went 2-for-4 and is hitting .419 in 16 games for the Rockies' Triple-A affiliate.

David Pauley (2-0) allowed one run on four hits and a walk over 5 2/3 innings in Salt Lake's 5-3 win over Fresno. Andrew Kown (3-1), who began the day with a 2.54 ERA, allowed a season-high four runs -- three earned -- on six hits and a season-high four walks over seven innings. Bees right fielder Ryan Langerhans drove three of those runs with a home run in the game's opening frame and finished 2-for-3 with a walk.

After hitting 25 home runs across two levels last season, Vinnie Catricala went yard for the first time in 2012 as part of a 4-for-5, three-RBI day in Tacoma's 6-4 win over Tucson. Rainiers second baseman Leury Bonilla went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored and is hitting .357 (5-for-14) in six games since being called up from Double-A Jacksonville. Right fielder Sawyer Carroll went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored for the Padres.

In the International League, Rob Johnson (3-for-4) homered, doubled and scored three times while Josh Satin (3-for-4) added two doubles for the Bisons as Buffalo beat Syracuse, 6-5. Carlos Maldonado (3-for-4) also homered, doubled and had two RBIs for the Chiefs.

No. 5 Tigers prospect Casey Crosby allowed two runs on three hits with nine strikeouts to earn the win as Toledo defeated Pawtucket, 6-4. No. 10 Red Sox prospect Jose Iglesias reached base four times, going 2-for-3 with two walks.

Gregorio Petit had a team-high three hits with two doubles and three runs in Columbus' 12-8 defeat of Gwinnett. Stefan Gartrell (three RBIs), Josh Wilson (two RBIs) and J.C. Boscan all homered for the Braves.

Jordan Danks homered while Hector Gimenez (triple, double, RBI) and Osvaldo Martinez both doubled in a four-run ninth to push Charlotte past Lehigh Valley, 6-5. Hector Luna led the IronPigs with three hits, including a double, in the loss.

Neftali Soto homered in the top of the 11th as Louisville edged Durham, 4-3. Bill Rhinehart added three hits, including a double and an RBI, for the Bats. Reid Brignac homered for the Bulls and No. 3 Rays prospect Chris Archer did not factor into the decision after allowing three runs on six hits and two walks with six strikeouts in six innings.

Darin Mastroianni went 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI to lead Rochester past Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, 4-3. Brandon Laird (2-for-4, three RBIs) homered in the loss for the Yankees, and No. 2 Yankees prospect Dellin Betances allowed three runs -- two earned -- in six innings in the start.

Orioles' No. 6 prospect Xavier Avery hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 13th in Norfolk's 3-2 win over Indianapolis. No. 13 Pirates prospect Rudy Owens started for the Indians, surrendering two runs on six hits and one walk while fanning seven over eight innings, but didn't factor into the decision.
