Manchester, NH - Despite a quality start from Joey Murray  (L, 0-2), the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays Double-A affiliate) took a rain-shortened 2-1 loss to the Akron RubberDucks (Cleveland Indians) on Wednesday night at Delta Dental Stadium.
With Akron leading 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh and Kevin Smith  at the plate, the skies opened up with heavy rain. The tarp was put on the field, and following a 32-minute rain delay, the game was ruled complete after six innings.
The game-winning run came home on an RBI single from Oscar Gonzalez in the top of the sixth inning, breaking a 1-1 tie.
The Fisher Cats had drawn even in the bottom of the fourth. Nash Knight  singled and moved up to second on a wild pitch. Josh Palacios  drove in the run with a single to center field.
Akron's two-out rally in the top of the second inning gave the RubberDucks an early run. Alex Call doubled and scored on a single by Alexis Pantoja.
Knight led the way for New Hampshire's offense, finishing 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

The Fisher Cats and RubberDucks conclude the series on Thursday at 12:05 p.m. It's Summer Camp Day at Delta Dental Stadium. For tickets and information, visit nhfishercats.com.
