Reading, PA - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats scored eight runs for the third consecutive night and secured themselves a winning August with an 8-6 triumph over the Reading Fightin' Phils at FirstEnergy Stadium Thursday night. With the victory, August is now the only winning month of the season for New Hampshire.
The 'Cats started the scoring with four runs in the top of the third. Nine men came to the plate in a frame that included base hits from Derrick Loveless and Andrew Guillotte, a Tim Lopes sacrifice fly and an RBI single courtesy of Emilio Guerrero that made it 4-0.
After Reading got two back in the bottom the inning, New Hampshire added on with three in the fourth. The stanza was highlighted by a two-out, two-RBI double from Reese McGuire to put the Fisher Cats up 7-2 after four.

The Fightin' Phils made it interesting with three runs in the bottom of the fifth and a run in the sixth to bring them within one, but a Guerrero double in the seventh later turned in to the eighth and final run of the night after one of three Reading errors in the game allowed him to score from second base.
Francisco Rios made a spot start for the 'Cats and went 3.2 frames. He was followed by Shane Dawson, Justin Shafer (W, 5-2) and Dusty Isaacs (S, 4) out of the bullpen.
Six of nine starters had a hit, including multi-hit performances by Guerrero, Loveless and Richard Ureña.
With the win, the Fisher Cats beat Reading for the 12th time in 20 games and win just their third four-game series of the season.
New Hampshire hits the road tonight and heads to Portland for the first of four games on Friday night at Hadlock Field. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. and can be heard locally on AM 610 WGIR or online via iHeartRadio or the MiLB First Pitch app.
