Reading, PA - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats trailed early but rallied for four unanswered runs to beat the Reading Fightin' Phils 4-1 at FirstEnergy Stadium Monday night.

Reading struck first in the opening frame. Scott Kingery singled to begin the inning, advanced to second on a passed ball then took third on a dropped third strike. Up stepped Kyle Martin, who delivered a two out RBI single to give the Fightin' Phils a 1-0 lead.

That advantage didn't last long. Ryan McBroom led off the second with a solo home run - his second in as many games - to left field that tied the game 1-1.

Another lead-off homer put the Fisher Cats out in front for good. Richard Urena took Reading starter Brandon Leibrandt (L, 2-1) deep to begin the fourth to make it 2-1 New Hampshire.

'Cats starter Francisco Rios (W, 3-2) took it from there. The Mexican-born right-hander tossed seven innings, scattered eight hits and didn't allow another run after the first inning. He walked one and struck out four.

New Hampshire added two runs in the sixth to pad the lead. McBroom doubled with two outs and scored on a Harold Ramirez single, who advanced to second on the throw. Emilio Guerrero followed with an RBI single that scored Ramirez and made it 4-1.

Chris Rowley (S, 1) earned his first Double-A save with two scoreless innings to close out the game.

The series continues Tuesday night in Reading. Jon Harris gets the ball for the Fisher Cats (9-14) while Tom Eshelman will start for the Fightin' Phils (11-9). First pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m. and can be heard locally on AM 610 WGIR or online via iHeartRadio.
