Fisher Cats Take 10-4 Loss to Portland on Wednesday

Manchester, N.H. - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays Double-A affiliate) took a 10-4 loss to the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) on Wednesday afternoon at Delta Dental Stadium. After New Hampshire's 2-0 win on Monday, Portland won each of the last two games to win the three-game series.
Portland put two runs on the board in the top of the first inning without the benefit of a hit. Jarren Duran walked and C.J. Chatham reached on a fielder's choice. Three wild pitches later, the Sea Dogs had a 2-0 lead. Luke Tendler then hit his 10th home run to give Portland another run.
The Sea Dogs broke the game open with five runs in the top of the fifth inning. Tendler had an RBI single, Jhon Nunez knocked in a run with a single and Duran had a two-run base hit. Another run scored on an error to make it 8-0.
The Fisher Cats scored their first run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Logan Warmoth  walked and moved to second on a wild pitch. A double to left field by Christian Williams  made it 8-1.
New Hampshire drew a little closer in the seventh with an RBI single off the bat of Josh Palacios  and a second run scored on a fielder's choice with Chad Spanberger  at the plate to make it 8-3.
The Sea Dogs extended the lead to 10-3 on a two-run single by Jeremy Rivera in the top of the ninth inning. The Fisher Cats made it 10-4 when Forrest Wall  doubled and eventually came home on a double play in the bottom of the ninth.

The Fisher Cats open a series in Reading on Thursday at 7:10 p.m. The next home game at Delta Dental Stadium will be on Monday when the Fisher Cats open an eight-game homestand with Harrisburg at 7:05 p.m. For tickets and information, visit nhfishercats.com.
