Manchester, N.H. - Jordan Romano scattered three hits over five innings to improve to 4-0 as the Fisher Cats opened a series with a 7-2 win over the Reading Fightin' Phils on Monday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Cavan Biggio had two hits and one triple apiece to pace the Fisher Cats to the win, which leaves the team with a franchise-best 14-7 record for the first month of a season.
The Fisher Cats put together three consecutive singles with two outs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. Guerrero Jr. moved to third on a single by Cavan Biggio, scoring when Max Pentecost rolled a grounder up the middle for the RBI.
Reading (8-13) took the lead in the top of the second inning. Fisher Cats starter Jordan Romano issued two walks to start the frame and a sacrifice bunt moved the runners up. Emmanuel Marrero stroked a two-run single to make it 2-1.
New Hampshire came back to tie the game in the last of the third inning, this time thanks to consecutive triples by Guerrero and Biggio.
The Fisher Cats scored again in the bottom of the fourth inning. Harold Ramirez beat out an infield single, moved to second on a groundout and to third on a wild pitch. After Andrew Guillotte walked, Jonathan Davis pushed a bunt up the first base line, scoring Ramirez. An error on a Bo Bichette grounder allowed Guillotte to score from second to put New Hampshire ahead 4-2.
New Hampshire added two more runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to break the game open. One run scored on an error and Harold Ramirez doubled in another. They added another run in the eighth on back-to-back doubles by Jonathan Davis and Bo Bichette to make it 7-2.
Jordan Romano (4-0) worked five innings to secure the win. He allowed three hits, but walked five while striking out seven. Relievers Zach Jackson, Conor Fisk and Andrew Case combined to pitch four shutout innings in relief.
Reading's Elniery García (0-2) took the loss.
