The Senators took a 2-0 lead in the first inning but couldn’t hold the lead and lost 8-3 to the Altoona Curve Wednesday night in Altoona. It’s the second straight 8-3 win for Altoona. Altoona took the lead for good with a four-run third inning. John Nogowski hit a two-run home run in the first, his first home run with the Senators.

Jake Irvin started and went four innings. He allowed back-to-back singles to start the first but pitched around the singles to retire the final three batters. He allowed four runs in the third after allowing a one-out walk. He finished his outing with a perfect fourth inning that included two strikeouts. Richard Guasch followed and pitched an inning. He struck out three, but two reached on wild pitches. He allowed three earned runs three walks and a hit to go with the strikeout/wild pitches. Alberto Guerrero pitched two innings and allowed one run on a home run. Edgar Garcia finished the game for the Senators, pitching a scoreless eighth.

Nogowski singled along with his two-run home run. Alfredo Rodriguez singled twice in the game. Justin Connell had an RBI double. The Senators had nine hits.
