The Marauders came out swinging, loading the bases in the top of the 2nd, but only managed to plate one run, taking a 1-0 lead.

The Hammerheads would remain quite until the 4th inning when newly acquired outfielder, Cade Gotta, sent a ball deep into left-center field and over the wall for a solo home run to tie things up 1-1.
Jupiter would strike again in the 6th inning when Gotta ripped a liner to right field, scoring Rodrigo Ayarza from second base to put the Hammerheads on top 2-1.
The Marauders would knot things up in the 7th, but Jupiter would regain the lead in the 8th inning on a Joe Dunand single that scored Brian Miller for the 3-2 lead.
With relief pitching a strong suit for the Hammerheads, a victory was just three outs away, but Bradenton's Albert Baur had other plans. He hit a two-run home run that gave Bradenton a 4-3 lead.
Jupiter was unable to get a man on base in the 9th, dropping this one for their 5th loss of the season.
The Hammerheads (16-5) will be back in action Friday (4/27) for game 2 vs. Bradenton (12-9).
First pitch set for 6:30p.m.
