IronPigs lose on walk-off in bottom of the 10th

(Buffalo, NY) – The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (53-70) turned in their final road trip of the season with an extra inning loss as the Buffalo Bisons (75-47) won 6-4 on Sunday evening. * Christian Colon* hit a walk-off two-run double against Damon Jones (1-5) to win the game.

Connor Brogdon started the game for Lehigh Valley on a Good Shepherd Rehabilitation appearance and pitched just one scoreless inning. Brady Lail proceeded to pitched two scoreless innings in relief. Lehigh Valley took a 2-0 lead against Jacob Waguespack in the top of the fourth inning Jorge Bonifacio scored on a groundout and Darick Hall hit an RBI double.

Buffalo scored a run against Braeden Ogle in the bottom of the fourth inning when Tyler White hit an RBI double that scored Kevin Smith. Mickey Moniak followed with a two-run home run against Fitz Stadler in the top of the fifth inning that would give the Pigs a 4-1 lead. The home run was Moniak’s 14th of the season.

Otto Lopez hit a two-run double against Brian Marconi in the bottom of the seventh inning to cut Lehigh Valley’s lead to 4-3. Rodrigo Vigil tied the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the eighth inning when he hit an RBI double against Jeff Singer that scored Forest Wall.

Bryan Baker (6-1) earned the win for Buffalo by pitching two scoreless innings in relief. Lehigh Valley used a season-high eight pitchers in the game compared to Buffalo using seven pitchers.

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs return home for their final home series of the 2021 regular season beginning on Wednesday evening against the Worcester Red Sox. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
