G59: Volcanoes blow-out Boise in first game of 15 day road trip

Keizer, OR: The Boise Hawks came into Volcanoes Stadium tonight with the most momentum of any Northwest League south division team.
Fresh off a series win against the Everett AquaSox that featured two walk-off wins, the Hawks seemed to be in attack mode going into the first game against Volcanoes. Seeing that Salem-Keizer had the worst record in the league, it was not out of the question for the Hawks to try and earn a sweep.
Then, the game started.
Boise simply got off on the wrong foot. Hawks' starter Garrett Schilling only made it through the first two innings. Schilling allowed six runs and that ended up being what sent down the Hawks on Wednesday night. Boise only managed three runs in the game off of
The Volcanoes carried their hot stretch through the first three innings with five more runs in the 3rd off of reliever
Salem-Keizer received hot nights at the plate from their stars. Although the Volcanoes haven't found their groove as a team, many individuals have some of the best numbers in the league. Logan Baldwin went 4-5 in the game with two runs scored.
Marte earned the win and Schilling took his second loss of the year. Boise will come back tomorrow with a chance to even up the series. They will send right hander
This series against Salem-Keizer is Boise's chance to pick up a few wins before traveling to both Eugene and Hillsboro in what will be the Hawks' two biggest series of the season. They will look for a strong response tomorrow.
