WooSox Drop Another One-Run Game to IronPigs

ALLENTOWN, P.A. — After a one-run final last night, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (25-20) squeaked out another one-run victory over the Worcester Red Sox (20-25) on Thursday night at Coca-Cola Park, taking game three of the series by a 2-1 final.
Worcester scored first for the third straight game, plating a run in the top of the fourth inning on an RBI infield single by Ronaldo Hernandez. Over his last four games, Hernandez is 9-for-14 with two doubles, a homer, and two RBIs.
Lehigh Valley tied the game in the bottom half of the inning thanks to Yairo Munoz’s second home run of the season. Munoz is now 10-for-27 with four RBIs this season against his former team.
The IronPigs took the lead for good in the fifth inning on Scott Kingery’s run-scoring single.
Thomas Pannone tossed five innings for the WooSox, allowing two earned runs on six hits. The 28-year-old walked one and struck out five.
The WooSox were 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position, and they left nine runners on base.
Jarren Duran extended his on-base streak to 15 games with a 1-for-4 showing.
Worcester is now 5-7 in one-run games this season.
