The Grizzlies Welcome Alfonso "Carlton" Ribeiro
May 19, 2010
FRESNO, CA - The first-place Fresno Grizzlies return home to host the Nashville Sounds and Memphis Redbirds for an eight-game homestand, beginning Thursday, May 20th. The Grizzlies currently lead all of Triple-A with 27 victories, having just completed a 7-1 road trip. Fresno's 8.5-game lead in the division is the franchise's largest since its inaugural season in 1998.

The homestand starts off on Thursday as the Grizzlies host the Nashville Sounds for Mad Tight '90s Night: THE REMIX, featuring Alfonso "Carlton" Ribeiro. Ribeiro, who played the character Carlton Banks opposite Will Smith on the immensely popular television show The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch, sign autographs, take photos with fans and participate in various on-field entertainment throughout the game. Fans are encouraged to break out their most stylin' '90s fashions and enjoy a full night of '90s music and themed in-game entertainment. The evening will also include a performance by Minor League Baseball's premier, infield-dragging dance crew, the Drag Kings, presented by Tickets.com. As with every Thursday home game, May 20th will also be a Thirsty Thursday, presented by Tecate, featuring $1 12-ounce Tecate and Tecate Light beers through the end of the fifth inning and $1 12-ounce sodas all night long. Gates and taps will open at 6:05pm for the 7:05pm game.

Friday, May 21st is Hispanic Heritage Night, presented by Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino, and the players will honor the occasion by wearing special "Los Grizzlies" theme jerseys. The jerseys will be available for purchase through a silent auction, with proceeds benefitting the Fresno City College Latino Faculty and Staff Association. In addition, there will be mariachi music around the ballpark throughout the night. The evening will also feature traditional Friday Night Fireworks, presented by Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino, as well as a Drag Kings Performance, presented by Tickets.com.

Saturday, May 22nd brings with it another giveaway, a Catcher's Style Backpack, presented by Eye-Q Vision Care, to the first 2,500 fans through the gates. It is also Junior Grizzlies Day, as the non-competitive baseball league for athletes with mental and physical disabilities will wrap up its 2010 season on the field at Chukchansi Park. Members of the Junior Grizzlies, the flagship program of the Grizzlies Community Fund, will be joined on the field by players from the Fresno Grizzlies as they play their final game of the season.

Sunday, May 23rd is another Save Mart Sunday, presented by Save Mart Supermarkets. Fans will have a chance to meet the stars of tomorrow at the Future Giants Autograph Session before the Grizzlies take on Nashville at 2:05pm.
