Jays win rain-shortened game, 2-1
Mike McDade singled home Tyler Pastornicky in the first inning for the game's opening run and Travis d'Arnaud followed with a solo home run to left in the third, his sixth home run of the season.
Meanwhile, Chad Jenkins (1-1) had a great second start for the Blue Jays, as he went seven innings and allowed only one run on five hits. He walked only one batter and struck out five.
The game was halted with one out in the top of the eighth inning as the rain came down hard on the field at Dunedin Stadium. And after approximately 45 minutes, with the field full of water, the game was officially called off, having gone long enough to be a recorded win for Dunedin (3-3).
The Blue Jays have now won two of three against Clearwater (2-4) in this series and will have an early start on Wednesday at Bright House Stadium, as the Threshers and Blue Jays start their series finale at 12 p.m.
Henderson Alvarez will take the hill for Dunedin, fresh off another quality start last Friday. It will be his penultimate appearance before making a trip to Anaheim, CA to be a part of the World Team at the 2010 XM Futures Game on Sunday, July 11.

Notes: After the game, shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria was promoted to Double-A New Hampshire. Although he struggled at the plate, the Cuban prospect was very adept with the glove and will make his mark with the Fishercats beginning Wednesday. Shortstop Luis Sanchez will be transferred from New Hampshire to take his roster spot with the Blue Jays on Wednesday...Pitcher Kenny Rodriguez was released from the team Monday evening. In three seasons with the Blue Jays organization, the 25-year-old right-hander was 22-20 with a 4.32 ERA in 60 games, including 55 starts. He split three seasons between Dunedin and New Hampshire.
