Bourjos Named PCL Player of the Week
Bourjos, who leads the PCL with 11 triples this season, hit .483 (14-for-29) for the week, drove in seven runs and also scored seven times. He drew four walks, stole his 23rd base and had five multi-hit games in seven contests. The 23-year-old Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim prospect has raised his average 38 points since entering play July 2nd, batting an incredible .548 (23-for-42) during that 10-game span. He has hit four triples and two homers in those games, though curiously his July 10th double was his first two-base hit recorded in exactly two months.
Bourjos is one of just nine PCL hitters since the league's inception in 1903 to hit three triples in a game, which he accomplished on April 16 against Tacoma and nearly repeated on July 2 at Colorado Springs with a two-triple effort.
