Big Fourth Dooms Bulls; Buffalo Wins Second Straight

Buffalo, NY --- Buffalo sent 11 hitters to the plate in the fourth inning, scoring six as the Bisons beat the Durham Bulls for the second straight night, taking a 6-2 decision on Tuesday night.

The game was played before only a few hundred fans thanks to chilly, sustained winds of 25-30mph, diluting a game-time temperature of 52 degrees. 

Durham (19-14) took a 2-0 lead in the third thanks to a two-run double by Corey Brown, scoring Hak-Ju Lee and Vince Belnome. 

After facing the minimum through three innings, Bulls starter Everett Teaford allowed the first six to reach in the fourth, highlighted by Brad Glenn's two-run double to hand Buffalo (17-15) a 3-2 lead. Chris Dickerson singled home a run, followed by a run-scoring double by Melky Mesa. Dalton Pompey stroked an RBI-single to end Teaford's outing. Jim Miller relieved, working the next 2 1/3 innings.

Durham managed just three hits in the game, with Belnome reaching all four times in the game. Belnome earned two more of his league-leading walks - now with 24 - along with a single and a hit by pitch.

Andy Oliver worked two hitless innings for the Bulls. Teaford (L, 2-2) permitted seven hits and six runs over 3 2/3 innings.

The Bulls, now 2-3 on their six-game road trip, conclude their New York swing on Wednesday night with Matt Buschmann (2-2, 3.93) starting against Scott Copeland (2-1, 1.74) at 6:05 PM ET.
