Yarbrough Collects Five Hits in Bees Loss

June 7, 2015

SALT LAKE CITY (JUNE 7, 2015) - Salt Lake Bees hitters collected 15 hits and Bees pitches struck out a combined 14 batters, but it wasn't enough as the Albuquerque Isotopes took down the Bees 6-5 in 10 innings. The two teams were tied at five heading into extras before Isotopes first baseman Kyle Parker took Bees reliever Vinnie Pestano deep on the first pitch of the 10th inning for a solo home run that proved to be the winning score.

Bees starter Tyler DeLoach (1-1) gave up five runs in the third inning, but was spotless otherwise, tying a Bees season-high with nine strikeouts over six and two-thirds innings. Trevor Gott and Jeremy McBryde each notched a pair of punch outs in scoreless outings out of the Bees bullpen. Alex Yarbrough collected the second five hit game for the Bees, going five-for-five with a double and three runs scored to lead the Salt Lake offense. The five hit performance was the first of Yarbrough's professional career. Kyle Kubitza added his league-leading 21st double of the year with a two-RBI hit in the first inning.

The Bees and Isotopes will play a doubleheader tomorrow starting at 5:05 to make up for Saturday's postponement. Monday Nights are Smith's Family Night's, families can purchase four tickets and four hot dogs for $20 at Smith's Tix locations.
