Daza Dazzles as Hawks Fall to Aquasox

Everett, Washington - The Boise Hawks fell to the Everett Aquasox on Monday night by a score of 10-7 after squandering an early four run lead.

The Hawks once again got after the Aquasox starting pitching, picking up four runs in four innings, highlighted by a Luis Castro home run.

The Aquasox came roaring back in the bottom of the fourth, putting up a four spot powered by a Corey Simpson home run and a four-hit two out rally that tied the game at 4-4.

The back and forth game continued as Yonathan Daza blasted a two-out solo home run over the right-center field wall, giving the Hawks the 7-6 advantage.

The Aquasox tied the game at seven apiece in the bottom of the sixth inning off a wild pitch before the Hawks once again took the lead in the seventh inning.

Eric Toole led off with a walk and scored on a Daza double down the left-field line. Daza moved up to third base on a Kevin Padlo fielder's choice before scoring on a pass ball, giving the Hawks a 7-5 lead.

The Aquasox took the lead for good in the bottom of the seventh as they sent nine men to the plate, scoring five runs on just one hit while taking advantage of Hawks miscues.

Kyle Wilcox picked up the win for the Aquasox, pitching two and one third of an inning, giving up no runs and no hits while striking out one.

Justin Lawrence took the loss for the Hawks, pitching one third of an inning while allowing three runs (one earned) on no hits with three walks and one strikeout.

The Hawks fall to 5-7 with the loss and look to take the rubber match of this five game series in Everett tomorrow night at 8:05 p.m.

Notes: Steven Leonard picked up his first professional base hit and RBI tonight.. Yonathan Daza reached base in all five at-bats, gathering two doubles, a home run and two walks… Luis Castro went 2-4 with his first home run of the season… The Hawks recorded their first multi home run game of the season.
