Toledo Rains On Durham, 10-3

Marte's Grand Slam After Delay Dooms Bulls
June 30, 2015

Toledo, OH --- Jefry Marte connected for an eighth inning grand slam to lead Toledo over Durham 10-3 at Fifth Third Field on Tuesday night.

Marte, who leads the International League with 54 RBI, drove a 3-2 pitch from Jordan Norberto over the left field wall to open up a seven-run lead for the Mud Hens (35-43).

Durham (41-38) trailed 2-1 after three innings when heavy rains rolled through to delay the game for 58 minutes. After the delay, starter Dylan Floro (L, 7-7) resumed to allow two runs in each the fourth and fifth innings.

The Bulls scored a run in the seventh on a grounder by Tim Beckham, then Nick Franklin homered in the eighth to pull within 6-3.

Floro permitted six runs and 10 hits over five innings, falling to the Mud Hens for his second straight start.

Rafael Dolis (W, 5-2) notched the victory in relief of starter Thad Weber, who did not return after the delay.

The Bulls will try to avoid a three-game sweep on Wednesday at noon with Scott Diamond (7-3, 3.61) starting against Mike Belfiore (3-7, 5.82).
