Five Curve players selected for Eastern League All-Star Game

Bell, Moroff, Creasy, Gamache and Frazier will represent Curve in Portland on July 15

CURVE, Pa. - Five players have been selected to represent the Altoona Curve at the 2015 Sullivan Tire All-Star Classic, the team announced in conjunction with the Eastern League of Professional Baseball on Wednesday. The game will take place at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine on July 15 at 7 p.m.

Curve players Josh Bell, Max Moroff, Jason Creasy, Dan Gamache and Adam Frazier will suit up for the Western Division's All-Star team.

Bell sits near the top of the league in several offensive categories, including batting average (.321, 3rd), hits (89, 2nd), on-base percentage (.393, 3rd), triples (6, T-1st) and RBI (45, T-5th). The Irving, Texas native entered the season as the fourth-best prospect in the Pirates' system according to Baseball America. Bell has already earned a selection to the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game in Cincinnati for the second consecutive year.

For Bell, it is his third straight season earning an All-Star selection. In 2013, he was named to the South Atlantic League All-Star team as a member of the West Virginia Power. Last year, he was an All-Star in the Florida State League on his way to winning the league's Most Valuable Player Award.

Moroff is enjoying a breakout season in 2015. Like Bell, he has been one of the top offensive players in the Eastern League all year. His .323 batting average is the second-highest in the league, and he sits first in hits (92) and runs scored (47). While playing in 73 games (T-2nd), Moroff is among the league leaders in on-base percentage (.394, 2nd), walks (36, 3rd), total bases (123, 4th) and at-bats (285, 4th).

A native of Maitland, Fla., Moroff earns his first All-Star selection in his professional career. He was named the Eastern League Player of the Week on April 27 while in a stretch in which he posted a 30-game on-base streak, the longest for any player in the Eastern League this season.

Creasy has posted an 8-1 record with a 2.99 ERA through 15 starts this season and is tied for the league lead in wins. The Clayton, N.C. native won each of his first seven decisions to open the season, including a span of wins in four consecutive starts from May 20-June 5. For Creasy, this is the first All-Star selection of his professional career.

Gamache earns his first All-Star selection while hitting .308 through 50 games this year. His five home runs are tied for the second-most on the team, and sit just one shy of a career-best mark posted in 2014 with the Curve. On May 25, the Newport, R.I. native tied a franchise record with five hits in a single game.

Frazier receives the second All-Star selection of his three-year professional career, having earned a nod while playing in the New York-Penn League with Jamestown in 2013. Through 40 games this year, Frazier is hitting .363 with a home run and 12 RBI. In 21 games in the month of June, the Athens, Ga. native is batting .424.

The gates at Hadlock Field will open at 3 p.m. on July 15, with other festivities including an autograph session with the teams presented by the Asylum Sports Bar & Grill, the Electricity Maine Home Run Derby and a postgame fireworks show presented by Coca-Cola.
