Tacoma Rainiers 2010 Playoff Series

Due to the $30 million renovation of Cheney Stadium during the offseason, the Tacoma Rainiers have inked a deal with the Seattle Mariners to play the Pacific Coast League Conference Playoffs at Safeco Field.

The first round format is best three of five and in this even numbered year, the Pacific North Division will be hosting games three through five. With construction starting on Cheney on September 3rd, these games are slated to be played at Safeco Field on Friday, September 10th at 7pm, Saturday, September 11th at noon (if necessary), and Sunday, September 12th at 7pm (if necessary).

Playoff tickets are set to go on sale on Saturday, September 4th at 10am. Tickets can be purchased at www.tacomarainiers.com, at the Rainiers front office, located at 1804 W. Union Ave. from 10am - 5pm, or by calling (253) 752-7707. Tickets will also be available for purchase through the Mariners Box Office from 10am to 6pm, at www.mariners.com or by calling (206) 622-HITS. Tacoma Rainiers season ticket holders can purchase their playoff packages now by calling (253) 752-7707.

Two different ticket levels will be available for purchase. The Walk-Off tickets, located in the Mariners Charter Seats, which are the first 20 rows of the 100 level of Safeco field, are $25. Home Run tickets are $20 and are located in the remaining rows of the 100 level. Group options and suites are also available. For more information or to purchase, fans should call (253) 752-7707.

Gates will open to fans two hours prior to each game. Parking will be available in the Safeco Field parking garage and the surrounding area. Rainiers playoff t-shirts and other 2010 commemorative gear will be available for purchase at Safeco Field on the day of the game.

The Rainiers currently hold a 3.5-game lead over the Salt Lake Bees for first place in the PCL Pacific Northern Division, with 15 regular-season games remaining. Tacoma wraps up their final games at Cheney Stadium in 2010 with a nine-game homestand beginning Wednesday, August 25. The Rainiers will host a five-game series with Portland, followed by a four-game set with Colorado Springs.
