ValleyCats open fan vote to determine 15th Anniversary All-Time Team

All-time team to be featured in commemorative baseball card set

TROY, NY - The Tri-City ValleyCats, a Class A affiliate of the Houston Astros, will be celebrating their 15th anniversary season in 2016, and have partnered with National Grid to name the ValleyCats 15th Anniversary All-Time Team.

Over 450 players have donned a ValleyCats uniform since their inaugural 2002 season, but only 31 will comprise the 15th Anniversary All-Time Team.

Fans will be asked to vote for seven starting pitchers, seven relievers, two players from each infield position, and six outfielders. The designated hitter will be the top vote recipient who was not selected at his respective position.

There will also be a vote for all-time manager. Tri-City has had six skippers, with Ed Romero leading in overall win percentage (.590, '13 - '15), followed by Gregg Langbehn (.564, '04 - '06), and Stubby Clapp (.556, '11 - '12).

Fans can vote by logging on to Voting commences on Monday, March 21 and will end on April 15.

Notable ValleyCats alumni include 2015 AL Cy Young Award winner Dallas Keuchel, 2014 AL Batting Champion Jose Altuve, and Major League All-Stars Hunter Pence, Ben Zobrist, and J.D. Martinez.

The 31 chosen team members, and manager, will be packaged into a commemorative 15th anniversary baseball card set to be given away in six portions at the ValleyCats six Friday night home games in 2016. The complete set will include a total of 42 cards, featuring nine momentous occasions in ValleyCats history.

During each "Flashback Friday" night, the ValleyCats will also recognize their past by showcasing memorable moments and airing interviews with former players. In addition, the team will be wearing commemorative 15th anniversary jerseys to be auctioned off after the final Friday game of the season on September 2.

The ValleyCats are offering a 15th Anniversary All-Time Team Mini Plan, which features the same great seat to each of their six Friday night homes games. Those who purchase the mini-plan will be guaranteed to receive the entire anniversary card set. Season ticket holders will also receive the full set.
