RiverDogs to Host National Anthem Auditions

CHARLESTON, SC - There is obviously a lot to experience at a Charleston RiverDogs home baseball game, including the singing or playing of our National Anthem.

 

Have you ever had the yearning to deliver the keynote address at a RiverDogs game?

 

If you do, the Charleston RiverDogs want to hear you.  Literally.

 

The RiverDogs will host auditions for those wishing to perform the Star Spangled Banner for home games on Tuesday, March 15, beginning at 4 p.m. behind home plate at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.  In the event of inclement weather, the rain date for the audition is slated for March 16.

 

Whether you are a talented vocalist, can play the Star Spangled Banner via instrument (a real one or even one you created), or can do both like Charleston native Darius Rucker of Hootie and the Blowfish, fans are invited to try out in whatever fashion you choose.

 

Those wishing to tryout should download the tryout form at www.riverdogs.com, complete the form and email in to complete registration.  The RiverDogs will then schedule the time slots available based on when the registration is received. 

 

The RiverDogs have 70 home games during the 2011 season, which begins April 15, when the Rome Braves come to Riley Park for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch.  There are a minimum number of available opportunities for performing the National Anthem, so make the most of your chance to share the spotlight of The Joe with future major league stars.
