ROCKY BLUEWINKLE AND BLUE ROCKS ADOPT DOG
The Blue Rocks are asking fans with interest in getting a pet, to consider adopting from the Delaware SPCA, and since the organization would never ask its fans to do something it would not, the Rocks have a new pal. The dog and her friends will be at Frawley Stadium every Friday night during the 2011 season. Fans can find her at the Delaware SPCA table, on the field during promotions, and roaming the stands.
One important step remains in the process however. The Rocks need help from their fans in selecting a name for the young pup. Patrons can submit name suggestions to Rocky Bluewinkle by emailing him at [email protected]. The selected name will be unveiled before the fireworks show on Opening Night, April 15 at Frawley Stadium.
The Delaware SPCA is a private non-profit organization dedicated to the elimination of animal cruelty, neglect and overpopulation by providing services for people and their companion animals since 1873. They do not receive state or county funding, and there is no national SPCA. They rely solely on local donations to carry on their work for the animals.
Rocky, Mr. Celery and Rubble are getting along very well with their new best friend.
The excitement begins on April 8 when the Blue Rocks open their 2011 season in South Carolina against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Texas Rangers). The home opener comes on April 15 with the first of a record-tying 15 fireworks shows at Frawley Stadium as the Blue Crew hosts the Potomac Nationals (Washington Nationals). Every Friday in 2011 will have post-game fireworks at Frawley. For tickets call 302-888-BLUE or visit bluerocks.com.
