Missions Beat Hounds and Clinch 2nd Half
Left fielder Jaff Decker added a two-run homer in the sixth, making it the fifth time this season the Deckers have homered in the same game, the third against the RockHounds.
Juan Oramas allowed just one run and six hits in six innings to earn his ninth win of the season. It was San Antonio's 11th straight win at home, matching their season-high from April 29-May 22.
Game two of the series is tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. The Missions will send right- hander Joe Wieland (7-0, 1.38 ERA) to the hill, while Midland will counter with righty Sonny Gray (0-0, 0.00 ERA), who was Oakland's first round pick (18th overall) in this year's draft.
