2012 Phillies Winter Banquet Coming to Baseballtown
(Reading, PA) The Reading Phillies are pleased to announce that the 2012
Philadelphia Phillies Winter Banquet will make its annual stop in Reading, PA on Tuesday,
January 24 at The Crowne Plaza Reading Hotel.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with cocktail hour, and will feature prizes, auction
items, highlight videos, dinner and more. As in past years, the event will also serve as
the annual King of Baseballtown fundraiser. An announcement regarding the crowning of the
10th King of Baseballtown will be made in the near future.
Tickets for the banquet are $65 each or $600 for a 10-person table, and can currently be
purchased in-person at the R-Phils Ticket Office, or by phone at 610-370-BALL. Proceeds
benefit the Reading Phillies Baseballtown Charities, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
dedicated to helping more children, who otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity, play
baseball. Complete registration and financial information of Baseballtown Charities can be
obtained from the Pennsylvania Department of State at 1-800-732-0999. The Reading Phillies
trademarked the name Baseballtown in 2002 and began programs in its name with goals to
honor Reading's rich baseball history and secure its baseball future by giving more kids
the opportunity to play and learn from the game's life lessons.
Last years event featured National Baseball and Reading Baseball Hall-of-Famer Ryne
Sandberg, Phillies manager Charlie Manuel, Phillies play-by-play broadcaster Tom McCarthy,
R-Phils slugger Matt Rizzotti, and Phillies assistant general managers Scott Proefrock and
Benny Looper (player personnel). This years list of Phillies players and personnel
will be announced at a later date.
