Baysox 7-run 3rd Leads to Ponies 7th Straight Loss

Zanon Earns First RBI at Double-A

Bowie, MD - The Binghamton Rumble Ponies (25-36, 60-65) dropped their seventh game in a row falling to the Bowie Baysox 11-4 on Monday evening at Prince George's Stadium. Bowie (39-19, 69-57) scored seven runs in the third inning against David Peterson and added three runs in the sixth. 

In the third, with the Ponies up 2-0 and the bases loaded, Peterson walked Carlos Perez to force home a run. That was followed by two-run doubles from Jesse Valentin and Zach Jarrett. Preston Palmeiro then capped off the scoring with a two-run homer down the right-field line making it 7-2. Peterson (3-6) allowed seven runs over two and two thirds innings in the loss. It tied the most runs the lefty has given up in a game this season. 

Bowie scored three more runs in the sixth and Perez hit a solo homer in the eight to make it 11-4. Perez finished 3-4 with two runs scored and three RBI. RHP Michael Baumann (4-2) allowed four runs and six hits over five innings and got the win. 

Jacob Zanon put the Ponies on the board in the top of the second with an RBI single. It was Zanon's first career RBI at double-a.
