BlueClaws Searching For 2013 Host Families

Area families needed to house BlueClaws team
January 28, 2013
LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Lakewood BlueClaws are again looking for local families to assist in housing players during the 2013 baseball season.

Anyone can help provide lodging for this year's BlueClaws by either providing space or renting a room/apartment. In past years, the BlueClaws have received many inquiries from the community about hosting a BlueClaws player, however usually a pool of nearly 30 homes is needed to house the team.

Dorothy Banner of Brick, NJ has been a host family for BlueClaws players since 2008, and looks forward to meeting the new player she will host each season.

"It's definitely a home run," she said. "It's a great experience and it's better for anyone with children. The guys we've had have been complete gentlemen with our family and friends. I can't say more about the program."

The BlueClaws are always looking to add to their list of families, especially homes in which Spanish is spoken, because of the number of Latin American players in the organization.

The 2013 regular season runs from April 4 until September 2 and players typically range from 19 to 24 years of age. If fans are interested in hosting a BlueClaws player, or if they have any questions about the hosting program, they should contact BlueClaws Executive Administrator Lindsay Lubeck at 732-901-7000 ext 100.

The BlueClaws, the Jersey Shore's top stop for affordable, family entertainment, have led the South Atlantic League in attendance in all 12 years of existence. The open the 2013 season on April 4th at FirstEnergy Park against the Kannapolis Intimidtaors.

Ticket packages and group outings are now available by calling 732-901-7000 option 3.
