Shorebirds Fan Fest Set for March 23

Salisbury, MD - The Delmarva Shorebirds, class "A" affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, are excited to announce plans for the 2013 Froggy 99.9 Shorebirds Fan Fest at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium on Saturday, March 23 from 9am-12pm.  The event is free and open to the public.  

Individual game tickets go on sale for the first time at Fan Fest.  Fans will have the chance to purchase tickets to prime games including the home opener on April 4 and the Independence Day Bash game on July 4.  The Shorebirds Box Office will open at 9am.   If you can't make it to Fan Fest, tickets will also be on sale through www.theshorebirds.com.

Registration for the Q105 Easter Egg Hunt and Kiss 95.9 National Anthem Tryouts will begin at 9am in the main lobby of the stadium.  

Shorebirds Fan Fest is headlined by the Q105 Easter Egg Hunt for boys and girls ages 12 and under.  All kids must have their own Easter egg baskets to participate in the hunt.  The egg hunt will be split into the three groups based on age: 4 and under will begin at 10am, ages five through eight will begin at 10:45 and children nine and older will start at 11:30am.  The Shorebirds will have a large portion of the outfield grass covered in Easter eggs.  All kids will receive candy following the egg hunt.  

"Shorebirds Fan Fest is a great way to get excited for the upcoming season," said Shorebirds general manager Chris Bitters.  "Fan Fest has something for fans of all ages and interests from the Easter Egg Hunt to the National Anthem Tryouts and the Summer Camp Fair."

The Shorebirds will hold Kiss 95.9 National Anthem Tryouts on the field.  If you want to sing the national anthem before a Shorebirds game during the 2013 season, you must attend.  All interested performers will be asked to deliver their rendition of a short portion of the national anthem on the field.  Registration for national anthem tryouts will take place from 9-10am in the lobby of Arthur W. Perdue Stadium while auditions will run from 10am-12pm.  

There will also be a Summer Camp Fair on the concourse of the stadium.  Local summer camps will be showcasing their camps and handing out brochures.  Parents and kids will have the chance to ask questions and speak to camp directors and counselors.  The list of camps scheduled to attend as of this press release are below.

The Shorebirds Flock Shop, the official merchandise store of the team, will also be opened during Fan Fest.  The newest 2013 Shorebirds gear including hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts and more, will be available for purchase.  

The Shorebirds Fan Club will have games for kids set up on the second level concourse of the stadium.  They will also have autographed Shorebirds items available for purchase.
