Kernels set 2013 Gate Giveaways

Cedar Rapids, IA - Everyone likes to get something when they come to the ballpark and the Kernels have set eleven Gate Giveaway dates for 2013.

The season starts with a double giveaway on Friday, April 5^th as the first 500 fans through the gates receive a free Kernels cap, thanks to the Best Western Longbranch, and 2013 Magnet Schedules will be passed out, thanks to MercyCare Community Physicians.

All giveaways begin when the gates open, which is one hour before scheduled first pitch. Visit www.kernels.com for game times or pick up a Kernels Pocket Schedule at various locations around eastern Iowa.

2013 season ticket packages and 10-game coupon books are on sale now at the stadium, or by calling the Kernels at (319) 363-3887. Individual game tickets go on sale Monday, March 18^th at 10 am and fans may purchase them early by coming to the Sixth Annual Spring Fling on Saturday, March 16^th from 10 am to 2 pm at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The 2013 Kernels arrive in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday, April 2^nd and the first chance to meet the new team is on Wednesday, April 3^rd as part of 'Meet the Kernels Night' from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. The Kernels open the 2013 MWL season at home against the Beloit Snappers at 6:35 pm with the gates opening at 5:30 pm.
