Ride the Bases Returns for 2013

Benefit for the Rypien Foundation will take place August 18th
March 14, 2013

Spokane, WA - The Spokane Indians announced today that the Ride the Bases charity motorcycle ride presented by U.S. Linen & Uniform will return for its second year on Sunday, August 18th, 2013. The event is a motorcycle ride and poker run that starts at the Lone Wolf Harley-Davidson dealership and finishes at Avista Stadium. The Indians have upped the ante for this year's event as one rider will be entered to win a brand new Harley-Davidson motorcycle courtesy of Miller High Life.

"We are excited to have this great event return for another year," said Indians Senior Vice President, Otto Klein. "Last year's ride raised crucial awareness and funding for our community and we look forward to partnering with the Rypien Foundation once again."

Registration for the event begins at 9:00 AM the day of the ride at Lone Wolf Harley-Davidson with riders leaving at 10:00 AM. The ride concludes at Avista Stadium at 1:30 PM for a pre-game concert and all-you-can-eat buffet. Participants will then ride their bikes onto the field at 3:15 PM for the National Anthem. First pitch is scheduled for a special 3:30 PM start time as the Indians host the Hillsboro Hops.

The Rypien Foundation, created by former Washington State quarterback and Super Bowl XXVI MVP Mark Rypien, is dedicated to providing hope for local families battling childhood cancer. Rypien, who lost his three-year-old son to cancer, continues to raise and provide funding to support programs and projects that help address the unique needs of children with cancer.

The cost for the event is just $30 and includes a commemorative t-shirt, donation to the Rypien Foundation, a ticket to the August 18th Indians game, Harley-Davidson poker chip, an all-you-can-eat Longhorn BBQ buffet and live music before the game.

In addition to U.S. Linen and Uniform, supporting sponsors for this year's event include: Lone Wolf Harley-Davidson, Miller High Life, Longhorn BBQ and Jack in the Box. Media sponsors include: KHQ TV, KKZX 98.9 FM and S-R Media.

The Indians will have a table at this weekend's Inland NW Motorcycle Show & Sale at the Spokane County Fair & Expo Center (404 N. Havana St.) with additional information about the event and sign-up forms.
