International League
Jim Miller, Norfolk

Miller was dominant in the closer role last week, going 4-for-4 in save opportunities while allowing only two base runners in four innings. Miller closed out two wins in Columbus and two more in Toledo over the weekend to give him eight saves on the year. The New Jersey native gave up one hit in his four innings of work while striking out six. The 26-year-old has yielded one run in his last eight innings of work.

Pacific Coast League
Enrique Gonzalez, Portland
2-0, 0.90 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 10.0 IP, 11 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 12 SO
After spending some time in the bullpen, Gonzalez moved back to the starting rotation and picked up two wins for the Beavers last week. The right-hander shut out Round Rock over five innings Tuesday, allowing five hits and striking out six. He followed that with five more solid frames in Colorado Springs Sunday, giving up a run on six hits with six more strikeouts. Gonzalez improved to 7-5 on the season while lowering his ERA to 4.84.

Eastern League
Scott Lewis, Akron
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 13.1 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 15 SO
Lewis was dominant in two road starts for Akron, pitching 13 1/3 innings without allowing an earned run. The southpaw got his sixth win of the year Monday in Altoona, pitching the first 5 2/3 innings of a 7-0 shutout. Lewis gave up one hit while punching out 10 in the contest. In Trenton Saturday, the 24-year-old went 7 2/3 innings, yielding an unearned run on four hits with five strikeouts. Lewis had to settle for a no-decision, however, as the Akron offense waited until the ninth inning to claim a 3-1 win.

Southern League
Tommy Hanson, Mississippi
1-0, 1.50 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 12.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 20 SO
Hanson continued his sparkling season for the Braves, with two more 10-strikeout games. The 6-foot-6 right-hander has fanned 10 or more in three straight starts and four times overall this season for Mississippi. He has a total of 93 strikeouts in 82 1/3 innings. He shut down the powerful Huntsville lineup Monday, allowing two runs on four hits in six innings for the win. Hanson had no such luck Sunday, settling for a no-decision, despite shutting out Jacksonville on two hits for six frames. Hanson ranks just outside the top 10 in strikeouts in the Southern League even though he started the season with Myrtle Beach.

Texas League
Brandon Hynick, Tulsa
0-0, 1.20 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 15.0 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 11 SO
What does a guy have to do for a win? Hynick had two of his best starts of the year only to be saddled with two no-decisions for the Drillers. Monday in Springfield, the right-hander allowed one run on three hits in seven innings, but his bullpen blew the lead and the game in a 6-5 extra-innings loss. It was the offense that let Hynick down Sunday, when he went eight innings, giving up a run on four hits. Tulsa didn't push across a second run until the 10th for a 2-1 win. On the season, Hynick is 7-7 with a 4.78 ERA.

California League
Jordan Walden, Rancho Cucamonga
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 G, 1 GS, 7.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 9 SO
Walden, promoted last month from the Midwest League, had his best start for Rancho Cucamonga Thursday. Pitching against Inland Empire, the right-hander went seven shutout innings, giving up two hits while striking out nine. It was good enough for Walden's second win with the Quakes and sixth overall this season.

Carolina League
Jaye Chapman, Myrtle Beach
2-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 6.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 SO
Chapman was a lifesaver out of the Myrtle Beach bullpen last week, picking up two wins in relief for the Pelicans. Chapman pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning Tuesday against Kinston before Myrtle Beach rallied for two in the bottom of the frame for the walk-off win. The right-hander had to work a little harder Friday against Lynchburg, pitching a season-high 5 2/3 innings in the second game of a doubleheader. Chapman limited the Hillcats to two hits, again getting the win when the Pelicans scored six times in the ninth for a 10-4 victory.

Florida State League
Carlos Hernandez, Vero Beach
0-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 7.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 8 SO
Hernandez's name may sound familiar, as the southpaw spent parts of three seasons with the Houston Astros earlier this decade. After signing with Tampa Bay, Hernandez seems to have found his old form. In two starts last week, he allowed one hit in seven innings for Vero Beach, shutting out St. Lucie twice. The 28-year-old is 0-1 with a 2.08 ERA in three starts.

Midwest League
Robert Fish, Cedar Rapids
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 13.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 10 SO
After back-to-back poor starts in mid-July, Fish has rebounded with three consecutive gems for Cedar Rapids. That included two great starts last week. The left-hander notched his eighth win of the season Tuesday by tossing seven shutout innings against Quad Cities, allowing three hits with six strikeouts. He was just as good Sunday in Burlington, pitching six more scoreless frames while yielding two hits.

South Atlantic League
Austin Hinkle, Columbus
0-0, 4 SV, 0.00 ERA, 4 G, 4.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 9 SO
In a strong week for relievers, Hinkle was the best. The Catfish closer saved four games last week for Columbus, throwing four hitless innings in the process. The right-hander struck out the side Monday in Asheville to preserve a victory, and punched out nine of the 14 batters he faced last week. Two walks were the only blemishes for Hinkle, who now has 12 saves on the year for Columbus.

Appalachian League
Colin Allen, Bluefield
2-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 11.0 IP, 10 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 11 SO
Allen finally got his first two wins of the year after pitching brilliantly for most of the season. The right-hander allowed three hits and a walk Monday night in Princeton for his first victory of the year, then quickly notched his second by blanking first-place Pulaski for five innings Saturday. Allen's 1.77 ERA is second-best in the league.

Pioneer League
Jose Perez, Orem
2-0, 1.50 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 12.0 IP, 10 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 21 SO
Perez was nothing short of filthy in his two starts last week, picking up two wins for the Owlz. The righty went seven innings Monday in Casper, allowing four hits and one run with a season-high 11 strikeouts. He nearly matched that performance Sunday versus Missoula, giving up three runs -- two unearned -- on six hits with 10 strikeouts in five innings. The Venezuela native moved to 5-2 and now has 77 strikeouts in 58 1/3 innings.

New York-Penn League
Tyree Hayes, Hudson Valley
2-0, 0.60 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 1 CG, 1 SHO, 15.0 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 11 SO
Hayes celebrated his 20th birthday last week with two of his finest starts of the season for Hudson Valley. Two days after turning 20, the right-hander shut out the Spinners, 4-0, in Lowell, going the distance on a four-hitter with six strikeouts. He wasn't too bad Monday either, allowing one earned run on three hits in six innings at Aberdeen en route to the win. The two victories brought Hayes to 3-4 on the year for the Renegades.

Northwest League
Pablo Menchaca, Eugene
2-0, 0.69 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 13.0 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 10 SO
Menchaca has been lights out for the last month for the Emeralds, but he really sparkled last week. After allowing a lone earned run on five hits in six innings at Salem-Keizer Monday, the Mexico native threw seven one-hit frames versus Yakima Saturday. The right-hander had 10 strikeouts in the two starts and he has now won his last three outings. Menchaca improved to 4-1 on the season with a 2.47 ERA.
