MiLB partners with Stauffer Biscuit Co.

Agreement celebrates National Animal Cracker Day today
April 18, 2013

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Minor League Baseball™ has teamed up with D. F. Stauffer Biscuit Company, makers of Animal Crackers since 1871, on a season-long national sponsorship with select MiLB™ clubs. As part of the two-year agreement beginning this season, the snack cracker for kids and adults, as well as Meiji Hello Panda créme-filled cookie varieties, can be found in clubs' concession stands throughout the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Other promotional elements include a "Roar Like an Animal" between innings contest, a pre-game kids parade, logo exposure on the clubs' video boards during each home game, hospitality options and prominently displayed outfield signage in six ballparks, among others.

"Minor League Baseball and Stauffer's both share a rich history of providing memories for kids and families alike," said Rod Meadows, Minor League Baseball's Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "Baseball and animal crackers bring out the kid in everyone, so combining the two was a logical connection for us."

"We look forward to introducing Stauffer's Animal Crackers and Meiji Hello Panda to the MiLB family of fans," said Chuck Kukic, Stauffer's SVP of Planning and Business Development.

As part of the National Animal Cracker Day celebration, clubs playing home games on April 18 will distribute one oz. Animal Cracker product samples to fans as they exit their ballparks. Clubs conducting exit sampling are the Harrisburg Senators, Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino, Lancaster JetHawks, Las Vegas 51s, Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, Reno Aces, Stockton Ports, Tucson Padres and Visalia Rawhide.

"As one of the first manufacturers to produce Animal Crackers, Stauffer's is proud to celebrate National Animal Cracker Day. We hope fans will enjoy a sample today and that this American classic will become as popular with them as the game of baseball," added Kukic.
