Vancouver falls 4-3 to Dust Devils on Saturday

(Gesa Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - Canadians LHP Kyle Anderson retired the first 12 batters he faced in order, but ran into trouble in the 5th inning as Tri-City found its offense in time for a 4-3 victory over Vancouver on Saturday night.

The Canadians opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the top of the 1st inning off of Tri-City starter LHP Jayson Aquino as 3B Jason Leblebijian doubled to center field scoring LF Ian Parmley (walk). Leblebijian would score minutes later on a sacrifice fly off the bat of RF Brendan Kalfus to give Vancouver an early 2-0 lead.

Tri-City would grab a pair of runs in the bottom of the 5th off of Canadians LHP Kyle Anderson who allowed two runs on a pair of hits, and grabbed two more runs in the bottom of the 6th when PH Sean Dwyer doubled to right off of Canadians RHP JustinJames scoring Jose Monzon giving the Dust Devils a 4-2 lead.

Canadians 3B Jason Leblebijian finished a triple shy of the cycle when he slammed his 1st home run of the season over the center field wall off of RHP Carlos Estevez to cut the Tri-City lead to 4-3 which would be the final as RHP Trent Blank came in for a scoreless 9th inning to secure the victory.

The Canadians and Tri-City play the final game of this three-game series on Sunday, June 16th at 7:15pm as Vancouver sends RHP Jeremy Gabryszwski (0-0) to the mound in the series finale.

Vancouver returns home to open up a three-game series vs. Spokane on Monday, June 17th at 7:05pm out at Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium. The Canadians will send LHP Bobby Brosnahan (0-0) to the mound on Monday and LHP Colton Turner (0-0) on Tuesday, June 18th at 7:05pm.
