'Wolves Win Two of Three at New Hampshire

A day after the SeaWolves belted out season-highs in hits and runs, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats returned the favor by dubbing the SeaWolves 22-1 on Sunday afternoon.

New Hampshire jumped ahead in the bottom of the first against Erie spot starter Ryan Robowski. Kevin Pillar led off with a double and was singled home by A.J. Jimenez for a 1-0 lead. Brad Glenn followed with a two-run home run to center making it 3-0. With two outs, Adam Loewen homered to left-center for a 4-0 lead.

The Cats extended their lead in the third. Brian Van Kirk walked and was doubled to third by Jimenez. Glenn blooped a single into left, scoring Van Kirk for a 5-0 lead. Kevin Nolan followed with an RBI single off of reliever Will Clinard, brining home Jimenez for a 6-0 lead. Loewen then made it 9-0 with his second home run of the afternoon.

In the fourth, Erie's troubles continued as Jimenez double and Glenn walked to put a pair on for Nolan. Nolan belted a double off the wall in left center, plating a pair for an 11-0 lead. Loewen singled for his third hit of the day putting runners on the corners for Jack Murphy. Murphy singled home Nolan making it 12-0. Kevin Ahrens singled to load the bases for Tommy Manzella. Manzella walked to bring home the Cats 13th run. Pillar followed with a groundout to third, plating Murphy for a 14-0 lead. With two outs, Jimenez singled home a run for his fourth hit of the afternoon and a 15-0 edge. An error on a ground ball from Nolan allowed an additional two runs to score making it 17-0.

Erie's lone run came in the top of the fifth against Cats starter Marcus Stroman. With one out, James Robbins connected on his second home run in as many games making it 17-1.

New Hampshire continued to add to the lead in the sixth against reliever Michael Morrison. Pillar and Van Kirk connected on back-to-back doubles to bring home the 18th run of the afternoon.

The Fisher Cats added four more runs in the ninth inning, capped off by a two-run Nolan double and Loewen double. Each Nolan and Loewen finished the day with five RBI.

Robowski (0-1) allowed seven runs on seven hits with a walk and no strikeouts in two innings of work.

The SeaWolves are off on Monday and will be back in action on Tuesday night against the New Britain Rock Cats at 7:05 p.m.
