PawSox and the Norfolk Tides finish in tie

The Pawtucket Red Sox and the Norfolk Tides finished in a 2-2 tie on Wednesday afternoon in Fort Myers, FL. The PawSox had a 1-0 lead going to the top of the 8th-inning before Norfolk scored twice to take a 2-1 lead. Pawtucket pushed across the tying run with two outs in the bottom of the 9th and the game was declared a tie after 9-innings of play. 

Boston Red Sox outfielder Grady Sizemore had another superb game going 3-for-4 with two singles and a double playing centerfield for the PawSox. SS Carlos Rivero had an RBI single in the 4th-inning scoring 3B Garin Cecchini (single) with the game's first run and 2B Ryan Dent delivered a clutch, 2-out RBI single in the bottom of the 9th-inning to create the 2-2 tie.

Keith Couch started and was terrific tossing 4 shutout innings allowing just 2 hits with 3 strikeouts. Chris Balcom-Miller followed with two scoreless innings. Mike Olmstead worked a scoreless 7th-inning but then gave up 2 runs in the top of the 8th on a 2-run HR by Jack Cust. Jose Valdez had a 1-2-3, 9th-inning with 1 strikeout.

The PawSox (2-3-2) will play at home against the Durham Bulls on Thursday afternoon.
